With over ten years of experience using AppGMS behind them, Zone Two are living proof of just how, with the right systems and support, a company can go from start up to market leaders.
When Martin Cole & Kenny Chan originally formed Zone Two based in Camden Town, they were working with the brand Big Star jeans. In 2003 they started looking for a Garment Management System for the business.
Martin had bought Sage to start with but soon realised that in order to grow his company he would need a system that was more tailored to the garment industry and which was robust and simple to use with a matrix colour size layout to enter orders. But he also knew that there was no way he could afford the hugely expensive ERP systems that he had been used to in his previous companies.
He also wanted a company that he could work with to develop his own ideas into a new system as his business grew and after meeting the AppGMS team and seeing the system he bought it with the intent to automate his business as much as possible.
Three years later Zone Two moved to larger premises, still in Camden Town and added the Scotch and Soda, Zanerobe and Local Celebrity brands. Martin had now also secured contracts with some of the big store high end retailers such as Harvey Nicholls, Selfridges and John Lewis, and was operating his first concessions. A new Concessions module was developed by the AppGMS team to handle and automate these sales and replenishments.
After six years and still working closely with the AppGMS development team Martin moved to larger premises with a new showroom in Shoreditch, he decided to add web ordering to enable his Sales team to enter orders directly at the customer sales appointment. AppGMS continued to bring significant efficiency benefits, as the orders could be sent directly in to the system and eliminated re keying of manual orders.
In 2012 Zone Two was up to six major brands and was about to launch a new company Showroom 12 to manage its new brand Samsoe & Samsoe. For this Martin decided that he would operate a second AppGMS system and web ordering site.
Looking back on this success and to a bright future of growth Martin reflects that his decision to go with AppGMS has certainly paid off. “We have grown from nothing to over £10m of sales employing just 22 people. TheAppGMS team are a great bunch of guys and always respond quickly and happily to any new challenges we throw at them. AppGMS is very much part of our future plans for more growth.
