The folks at AppSoft have been working hard again to keep their customers ahead of the pack. They will be demonstrating how their Accelerator VMS Fleet and Workshop software can help specialist vehicle manufacturers and converters comply with the regulations of the U.N. Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), which will become compulsory for all vehicles entering into service from 1 November 2014. That is this year!!!
So if you manufacture, modify or back fit bodies, new equipment or parts to any vehicle, you should already be aware that your company will have to comply and be working on this before it’s not too late.
You will be required to show that your manufacturing processes comply with this directive and that you can record the detail of how your company has complied. Any vehicles that are eligible for type approval will require you to produce either a part or full certificate of conformity. All parts used will need to be fully audited have a trace on which vehicle they have been issued to and when.
The great news is that AppSoft team have been working with vehicle builders within its customer based to ensure that AcceleratorVMS has the necessary features and data fields to allow the recording of all build details and tracing of vehicles and parts. Accelerator will also allow for the setting up of Certificate of Compliance documents relevant to each vehicle and for these to be produced as required.
Says Graham Helliwell Commercial Director of AppSoft, “Anyone producing or modifying vehicles is under enormous pressure to keep up with legislation. The new Type Approval features in Accelerator are designed to do just that and make things easier for them.”
